BICESTER VILLAGE IDIOTS
BICESTER HERE WE GO !
Bicester like many places has changed out of all recognition in recent years, but is it a better place ?
As a long time resident of Bicester, I personally think its time that the people that live here started to question some of the decisions made on our behalf by career Councillors with little regard to how their decisions affect US !
Please feel free to add sensible comments about how you feel about our town...........good or bad.
Check out the idiots website: Bicestervillage idiots.com
Now also on facebook find 'Billie Bicester'
Thank you
Bicester Bill.

FUTURE OF BICESTER FARMING ?
PEOPLE FIRST
The proposed new eco town is a
controversial subject in a place the size
of Bicester, possibly 5000 extra houses.
The scheme requires land, farming land ?
HOW ECO IS THAT ?
Spare a thought for the farmer and her family, the first they heard that their land and livelihood had been proposed as an option to the government was on
TV !

SCROOGE
PARKING (again)
With 125 rarely used parking spaces,
Bicester cattle market
is perfectly positioned for people
wanting to shop in town.
A recent request from local traders
to CDC to offer free parking
for the month of December
has fallen on scrooge like ears !.
When they are faced with the
ghosts of Bicester shops it will
be too late..........no business rates !.

BTFC MEETING
THE MEETING
There was a big turnout
for last nights meeting,
It was great to see how many
people care about the clubs future.
Has it got a future ???????.
There were high expectations from the locals
The BSA must be accountable etc etc.
WRONG
As a private trust they can do
whatever they want.
No matter how much money the
BSA have (millions ?).
they dont even have to publish accounts !
Financially they have the right to ask
BTFC to vacate the land if the debt remains unpaid.
Morally and in the spirit of sport ?????.

RESIDENTS ? PARKING
RESIDENTS PARKING
The district council introduced this scheme to 'lucky' residents in January 2008, supposedly to help residents that struggled to park because of commuters.
In fact Priory Road was the only area without line markings to stop commuters
I know some determined commuters, but none that would park all day on double yellow lines
So the local councils jumped straight in to collect a nice little earner.
If your property has increased in value due to being hit
by the council cash stick....congrats.
If you can get parking close to your property and
have enough spaces..... .congrats.
BUT some of the problems caused by this scheme have left
some householders worse off !.
It was never checked where people use to park,
so properties with access to off road parking
and houses with dropped kerbs also have permits.
Each vehicle is entitled to 100+ visitors permits
free of charge, visitors are not residents
why are they taking up householders spaces ?.
The council wont guarantee parking spaces
but in some areas they have issued permits to
none residents........what use is that to the people that actually live there ?.
These permits are available because of the property
address and yet they are valid in every zone, why ?.
This was supposed to help people that live in an area,
its not an exclusive club, where permit holders can
park all over the town while 'normal people' have to pay !
Camper vans are excluded from any height restrictions
so if you dont want yours blocking out the light/view stick it outside somebody elses house !
WHAT A JOKE !.
ps they can start issuing fines in April 2010

CELEBRITIES OR US ?
Following the surprising (shocking news) that the district council paid £8000 to a celebrity to open the new look sports centre, do we think its right or fair ?.
That they couldnt find an inspirational person/youngster in a town this size......beggars belief !.
The fact that they didnt even try sums up their spend spend mentality.........its our money !.
The local mp has jumped in commenting that not one single resident has complained.
DID WE KNOW ? only after the event when we read about it in the local press.

BICESTER FOOTY FINISHED ?
With the sad news that Bicester Town Football Club is facing closure over a £9000 debt to the BSA and appeals for the public to help, shouldnt we be asking how this can happen ?.
The club pays for the use of the pitch, floodlights, changing rooms etc, this money is paid to the local Bicester Sports Association, they say to cover their costs.
This land was donated to the people of Bicester for local sport.
In the past the BSA and its trustees have sold land for millions of pounds to .......
Tesco..........you guesssed !.
So, how can our Town Football Club be homeless ? and if they have to leave what will happen to the land ? our land.
THE GARTH
This beautiful old building was given to the people of Bicester, it is now in a state of disrepair after years of neglect by succesive councils
There are those on the council who see this impressive old building demolishished claiming that it is too expensive to repair.
This is only a personal view but wouldnt the unexplained £30,000 council payoff have paid for a few new windows etc ?.
This massive amount of OUR money has been spent and despite the local newspaper asking why under the Freedom of Information act.........still remains unexplained.
Any comments ?
